Want A Flat Stomach? These Simple Exercises Could Be Your Answer!

Posted on Jan 28, 2010 under Flatten Stomach | No Comment

If you want to acquire a flat stomach, there are numerous different exercises that you can perform.  A number of these use some form of apparatus or specialised equipment whilst others just need a floor to lie on.  What they all require though, is drive and purpose.

Some exercises such as Pilates, will work your stomach muscles even though they are primarily focussed on another area of your body.

Two fundamental exercises that can provide you with the results you desire are the ‘basic crunch’ and the ‘side crunch.’  A great benefit of these two exercises is that, unlike something like ‘sit-ups,’ they tend to be more back friendly.

A basic ‘crunch’ is carried out by lying on your back and raising your upper torso a few inches so that it is just high enough for you to experience tension in your stomach muscles.  It is crucial that you do not lift your head further than your back or shoulders, but keep everything straight.  The beneficial key here is that your stomach is performing the exercise and not your arms or head, thus helping to protect your back.

An exercise to work those ‘love handles’ that can be performed in conjunction with the ‘basic crunch’ is the ‘side crunch.’  The procedure is the same as in the ‘basic crunch’ only this time as you raise your upper torso, twist your body a little to one side.  Then repeat the exercise on the other side.

As well as exercising your mid stomach and side areas, you need to include other exercises that will work on your lower and upper stomach too.  This will ensure that you cover the whole area and help to acquire a flat stomach.

There are assorted stomach flattening exercise routines available on the internet, videos and books that you could try, to discover what works best for you.  One eBook that is very popular is, ‘Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle’ by Tom Vunuto.  Another product available from the same fitness expert, but this time a four part MP3 audio tele-seminar is called, ‘The Body Of Your Dreams.’

Obviously, to acquire a flat stomach, whatever fitness workout you choose will require to be properly performed on a regular basis.

Remember, if you are a beginner, seek the advice of your doctor and start off gently to protect your back.
