Should I join a gym or build my own home gym?
Question by Eternal O: Should I join a gym or build my own home gym?
I’m not sure if I should join a gym or build my own. Could you guys compare the general costs associated with purchasing a type of fitness equipment versus joining a gym.

I think that you should Go to a public gym. i have a gym near by and i was thinking the same thing you where….I did all the calculations and it costs a lot more to spend money to build a gym. also there are “pros” at the gym so you get the best for what you paid for…Best of luck
get a total gym its amazing i love it =) its so worth it i tried going to a public gym but i hated that ppl stared at me while i was wrking out and its soo much more convenient when ur gymn is at home!
the cheapest thing to do would be to get the power block dumbbell set with the bar bell extension. It’ll only be a few hundred dollars. There are cheaper brands of sets that are not called powerblock, there are other brands. You can research this. It’s a great value.
Otherwise, weights usually go for a dollar a pound.
join a gym….they will have a more complete setup….especially if its a large chain gym….
also its more motivating to get fit when you’re surrounded by other people doing the same.
i have a membership and i also have a home setup….i almost always go to gym instead of workout at home
If I’m a young lady I go with the gym………but a guy can do his thing in the basement or garage or bedroom and add a little running. For a girl, the gym has so many more options and helpers. Good luck.
I go to a gym because at the gym i go to (la fitness) it is only 20 dollars a month but if you buy machines for your home it will be hundreds and maybe thousands of dollars. If you want other people to see you or if you like to work with other people go to a gym. If you want to work out in the privacy of your home you build a gym. I like going to the gym but the decision is up to you.
go join a gym. you sound like you have no clue. So just go to the gym see what you like (cause you arent rich and cant afford everything) then after your membership is over (or during it so you can do the transition thing) then go to your gym. its better that way. That way you dont waste money on some equipment you are never going to use.
you may save money in the long run building your own gym, however, i like my gym membership because it has lots of different cardio and weight equipment, plus a huge variety of classes, which you cant get at home, adn the DVDs just don’t do it for me
Build a gym. Fitness gyms are way expensive. They charge like 400-1000 dollars a year for use of their facility, plus there’s a monthly fee for the membership. It’ll pay out in the long run if you build your own gym.
