Can You Flatten Your Stomach With Appetite Suppression?

Posted on Aug 11, 2009 under Flatten Stomach, Lifetime Fitness, Uncategorized | No Comment

It is a well publicised fact that the population of overweight to obese people is increasing with the resulting health problems.  Because of this, many of us have tried various weight loss routines from diets to exercises in an effort to lose belly fat and flatten our stomachs.

Diet plans and weight loss activities promoting aerobic and cardiovascular workouts have been created by health experts.  We even have medical solutions employing surgery.

One approach to burning stomach fat and general excess weight reduction is by suppressing your appetite and therefore reducing hunger.  If excessive weight is caused by overeating to satisfy hunger, suppressing hunger would reduce your food intake resulting in weight loss.  Basically, if you are not hungry, you will not overeat.

Several alternatives for appetite suppression are available in the market that employs either a pharmaceutical or herbal approach.

One pharmaceutical product intended to suppress hunger by working directly with your brain is Phentermine.  It comes in tablet or capsule form depending on which brand you use.  It also aids your body to burn fat.

On the negative side, there may be some side effects like insomnia, hypertension, nausea, euphoria and psychosis.

Other appetite suppressants manufactured today come in the form of dairy products.  They are presented as snack bars or in milk form that can be taken as shakes.  It is claimed that they can suppress hunger for up to 4 hours.  Manufactured in acceptable flavours, they can be taken as part of your meal and, because of their nutritional content is a healthy contributor.

Herbs are also available that claim to suppress your hunger pangs.  They are manufactured in capsule form and state that they not only reduce your craving for food, they can burn fat and increase your energy level.

Hoodia Gordonii, a plant found in Africa is one of the most popular organic hunger suppressants available today.  This plant, resembling a cactus, has succulent stems that are believed to be used by Bushmen to ward off hunger.  Studies have said that Hoodia can reduce calorie intake for a human by up to 1000 calories per day.  Although there are claims by manufacturers as to the lack of any side effects, any published documents and research concerning safety to humans are hard to find.  Fake Hoodia is also difficult to detect from the real thing.

Although it could be thought as an aid to weight loss, hunger suppression obviously has advantages and disadvantages.  In view of this, it would be wise to ask your doctor whether this weight loss approach would be suitable for you.
